Are you at a pivot point in your life?

I can help you pivot, to find your purpose in life, your North Star, that can guide your life choices. I will be your “thinking partner” to help you, not only in finding your Life Purpose but then to help guide your life journey to live according to that purpose.

Almost everyone has a “Life Purpose”. For a fortunate few it is a “calling”, a North Star that they follow throughout their life, but for many it is more elusive and not something they frequently consider… but it’s still there – having a healthy family, an active social life, experiencing the world, making a difference to someone’s life.

But what happens if our focus is blurred? If we don’t know what we truly need? If we don’t know our Life Purpose? Or we know it but don’t know how to follow it?

I can help you pivot, to find your purpose in life, your North Star, that can guide your life choices. I will be your “thinking partner” to help you, not only in finding your Life Purpose but then to help guide your life journey to live according to that purpose.

In her book "Pivot", Jenny Blake defines a pivot point as "a change you make of your own volition when you have reached a point in your career when you are ready for increased challenge and impact."

Take a moment to reflect on your life and consider your past pivot moments. In the words of Jenny Blake "I encourage you to reflect on your work history and connect the dots looking backward to see how you have already pivoted from one related area to the next. It is likely that, before even reading this book, many of these concepts will be things you have unknowingly applied in your own career. (Blake, Jenny. Pivot (p. 11)).

Consider when you left school or University; that mid-life crisis where you questioned what you were doing with your life; the day you retired and wondered how to fill the second half of your life.  Now consider your life as it is now... have you arrived at a new pivot point?

The starting point of the Amberbuzz Personal Growth process, the "roots" phase, includes the steps you need for a structured approach to a pivot. This "roots" phase includes discovering your strengths, skills, core values, contribution to society, and future life options and is augmented by the Pivot toolbox. These steps are also core elements of Ikigai, described in Wikipedia as "a reason for being" and frequently associated with longevity.

The "grow" and "live" phases of the Amberbuzz Personal Growth process include the remaining steps of Jenny Blake's Pivot cycle (Pilot and Launch).  Here you set up and plan projects and then monitor progress daily and monthly. These steps are close to those seen in Carroll Ryder's popular Bullet Journal approach.

The Grow phase supports the process steps to support personal growth: the goals, objectives, actions, rituals and learning goals supporting your growth mindset.   The underlying process inside the grow section is the GROW coaching process: goal, reality, options, will.

The Life phase supports the processes and steps to live a purposeful life. The core process in this phase is the bullet list journal process which is itself based on the Deming PDCA process (Plan, Do, Check, Act), but it is tightly integrated with the “action” phase or ROSA and the “will” phase of the GROW process.
