Life Coaching

As your Life Coach I will be your guide and accountability partner through your personal growth journey.

Freeing potential through action!

So what is Life Coaching? Let’s start with some definitions.

As I was taught in 2014: “Coaching is a process that aims to develop, challenge, support and empower people to reach their full potential, personally and professionally, in a sustainable manner, through the use of questions!” – or “freeing potential through action”: International coaching certification manual - We Create, Lda.

More recently, the International Coaching Federation (ICF), defines coaching as “partnering with Clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential.” ICF Code of Ethics - International Coaching Federation.

The key elements of these definitions are that coaching is a process, using questions (and reflective enquiry) to help the client’s thought processes and unlock the potential they already contain – to help them see and then “realise” that potential, to achieve their goals, in a sustainable way.

So what does that mean in practice?

1. The coaching process

ROSA process

The ROSA process is at the core of each coaching session and also the coaching series. The goal of this process is to ensure each coaching dialogue results in "action" or "homework" for the client.

2. My commitment to you

Life coach certificate

As your coach, my commitment to you is to support your growth journey through a mindset of curiosity, compassion and courage. bringing my experiences and knowledge to bear on whatever situations you encounter.

3. Your commitment to me

Handshake between client and coach

Life coaching will only work for you if you are ready to be open and honest in our dialogue, be committed to the activities agreed at the end of each ROSA session, and committed to change... you have to want to make a change in your life in order to be coached.
